High School Religious Education
Religious Ed. Coordinator, 6-12
Classes for Grades 6, 7 and 8 are held on Sunday evenings from 6:00 until 8:00 in the Ward Center. Grade 9 students are invited into a 3 year Confirmation preparation program held in the catechists homes. The Home Sessions times for Grades 9 – 12 can vary and are determined by the Home Session leaders. The Advent and Lenten Penance Celebrations are part of our curriculum and counted as a class. Home Session students are asked to report to Hilbert Hall at 6:00 on those days. The Sunday (10:30 until 1:00) mini retreat and (10:30 – 3:30) retreat are an important part of our curriculum and are mandatory. Overnight retreats, lock-ins, etc. offered for the different grade levels are optional (except for 11th grade) but have proven to be very successful so all are encourage participate. Participation by all students is also expected at the Lenten Soup Suppers hosted by their grade. Another key aspect of our program is community building so all teens are encouraged to be involved in the other youth activities offered whenever possible.
